I've worked for them for the last 3 years and have had a very good experience. I'm a PTA and work out of Florida. They seem to be able to put together the best pay package I've found.

I have an SLP friend that is being treated very unprofessionally by her recruiter with Jackson Therapy and she is getting a really really low rate. Way less than what I am making as a COTA at the same facility. I have also been talking with someone with Jackson and they have not been able to offer us nearly the pay packages our own company, Platinum Select,

When I think of JACKSON THERAPY PARTNERS   I think:  "BOZO CIRCUS IS ON THE AIR" !!!!  They were the first "Agency" I worked for and I will NEVER work for them again.  They will probably love a new grad without experience in the field as they can take full advantage of you.  If you want more specifics, you can contact me at  phystherapist on this website.  I just finished an assignment where the PTA was with Jackson and she had problems as well.  Research them on the web and see how much $$$ they have made in the past on Therapists - Millions.

The recruiter I was working with recently to possibly find me a job was ABSOLUTLY GREAT! (Kevin by the way….too bad he works for Jackson.) He wanted to get me a few different jobs so bad but I could tell his hands were tied when to came down to the compensation part of things. Jackson Therapy as company is garbage. There are way better companies out there that will treat you better. These guys are going to take advantage of you. Sorry.

Sorry to hear about negative comments. I have the opposite point of view. I have worked for Jackson for over 3 yrs in several states as a PTand have had a very good experience. A yr ago I took a job with another tarvel company and learned the hard way how good Jackson has been. I am far from a new grad!  Nancy

I have worked with Jackson for two years and have been completely satisfied.  Good pay and benefits.  Helpful with paying for continuing ed.  I've worked in three different states and always had help with licensure and my recruiter always arranged for multiple job options within the given geographic area.  He has been available after hours if I ever needed him.  Housing and furnishings has been great.  The one time I had some difficulty, the housing people were quick to respond and help me.   They even stayed late making calls to improve the situation and never made me feel like I was a burden.
When the new medicare regulations began Oct 1, they contacted staff to make sure we were informed and our companies were giving any help we needed.

Sorry some didn't have a good experience, but I have.   No complaints....

I have worked for Jackson for 7 years and am also signed up with several other companies around the country.  My Jackson recruiter is so much more aggressive when it comes to finding jobs,  she has never left me hanging where others have and even avoided my calls.  I have my recruiters personal cell phone number and I know I can call her anytime, even if it's just because I'm having a bad day.  I am a COTA traveling with my sister and cousin who are PTAs and they work hard to place us together as much as possible and it's in areas that we want to be in, not just in jobs they want to fill.  I have received a much better rate, package and benefits through Jackson even though other companies promise they can match it, they seem to always back out or "things change" at the last minute.  I find Jackson flexible with the length of contracts, accomodating if we want time off and they are always showing their therapists how much they appreciate them through fun contests, incentives and cool gifts at christmas, OT/PT months and other holidays.  I have really enjoyed working with Jackson.  Good luck!

I worked for Jackson Therapy for 2 years.    I chose them from the 50 or more who contacted me when I began researching travel.  Initially, I had a good recruiter and things went well, however after he left it was all downhill.    I hope  that he left due to the changes that were taking place.
I had 3 different recruiters in less than 1 year, all disappeared without notice.  The third, Natalie, obviously was a new hire who was completely uneducated in the travel business and didn't even return calls or email.  Eddie Rundle, her supervisor, flat out lied to me on more than one occasion.
I had to hire an attorney to get my licensure reimbursement, which was not only listed in my contract but on the  website recruiting  information. I see some positive feedback on this site but it seems doubtful.   A company that treats even one traveler as I was is dangerous. Please  don't take a chance on getting involved with them!

I am about ready to graduate and I've been looking at different traveling companies for my first job. I got the recommendation to research the company before negotiating or applying for positions through them. Jackson Therapy Partners wasn't registered in the Better Business Bureau database and I couldn't find any information on their accreditations. I brought this up to the recruiter and he said that they were a good company none the less. I decided to stay away from them for a while until I learn more about them. Their promised pay and benefits sound great though.

I am glad that you are researching before making your decision.  Pay rates can be enticing, but there are many ways to present the packages.  They ALL look good in the beginning.  another thing to consider is what percent you pay for insurance and when it starts.  I am finding huge differences between companies in this area.
Best wishes-by the way, any interest in working in WI?

Great discussion.  Another thing to consider is the structure of the pay packages.  It seems to me that companies make it VERY difficult to compare pay packages.  Unless you take a few minutes to analyze the payrates, it is hard to compare.  I always try to break all the benefits down into an hourly rate.  I worked for a company once that offered benefits such as "a week of paid vacation" after a year.  That sounds like a great benefit, but if you do the math, that only calculates into a benefit of about 70 cents/hour over a year.

Great job on the research.  My best advice has ALWAYS BEEN:  go with a company and a recruiter from a personal reference.  Other travelers are a very honest and legitimate source of information.

Always compare companies. It's hard with pay packages but I always tell people to be a little hesitant when you have companies that "throw" money at you.  Keep in mind that there are guidelines to the "tax-free" money you are receiving.  Look for a company/recruiter that listens to you and will watch out for what your needs are.  Just my two cents...

I just finished working with Jackson Therapy and am currently looking into other travel companies. I have to say they found me a job right away and my initial recruiter was great, but now I have had a recruiter who basically has not listened to anything I have said about where I am willng to travel.  I suggest to shop around before signing on!  I was a new grad last May and just wanted to get my feet wet and now am realizing that I have sold myself short.

One assignment with them, neither good or bad, decent pay package... really nothing special.
Probably wouldn't go out of my way to work for them again.

I have heard nothing but bad from them. A new OT grad was getting paid so low, I couldn't believe it and I had an SLP friend in Florida get treated very unprofessionally as well. She had them find her housing, but the housing they put her in was horrible (the housewares were all used and dirty and the place was infested with cockroaches among other things). They had HER take time out of her working day to go look at apartments that SHE found herself online and told her that when she found a place she liked that they would look into it to see if they could move her. I think that is outrageous. If you have the company find you housing, they take care of it ALL.

I was with Jackson Therapy and had a horrible experience.  I have been with PPR (Christina Kennedy is my recruiter) for the past 5 years.  LOVE THEM....LOVE HER.  I refer everyone I know and they all give her rave reviews.

I was hoping someone could explain housing to me. I'm new to traveling and on my first assignment with JTP. It seems in the contract that my company should be paying for my housing, but they stated all they do is find housing and set it up so all the bill go to them but the $ comes out hourly from my paycheck. Is this normal?? It seems like a lot of travel websites offer "free" housing, but perhaps they aren't?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would find other housing alternatives.  Jackson Therapy placed me in an area that was very difficult to find indep. housing in.  They agreed to find housing for me- at a deduction of $10/ hour.  That's $400/wk =1600/ month.  that's 3x my house payment! In an area that avarage rent was $400/ month for a descent 1 bdr apt, I was outraged! I was patient and found something on my own and that was the last assignment I took with JTP.   BEWARE!!! Sounds good on the phone- dollars and cents don't always add up.

Equis18,

I had a good friend who worked with JTP. He enjoyed working for them. Housing most always is mentioned as Free Housing or a Paid Housing stipend, or at least that is what I have seen with all the companies I have viewed. Usually you will receive Housing and Per Diem based on the area where you locate. It's based on the government per diem and the company can pay you less or more. If the company gets your house, they adjust the costs from the Housing fee. If you can find a house for less money, then you get to keep that money in your paycheck. That's the way my company works.
If you have your own home and are traveling away from it, you can get your housing and meals paid TAX FREE and that depends on certain government laws. (You can contact me about those if you want at my email address here. Befriend me.) Almost all the companies, depending on benefits will average out just about the same. Talk to some folks in your field here and ask them how much they make. Part of the benefits of this site. Befriend folks here and ask them what they make. You then can get an idea of which company pays the most and how things are broken down into different areas such as: ceu, mileage, pto, insurance(long term, short term, medical and dental, etc), licensure, professional dues, et al..... Ok good luck with your traveling.

Jackson Therapy Partners have contacted me allot over the past year. Each time they called they said they had a job in my "area". Each time that I asked what town the recruiter said they couldn't devulge that infomation untill I signed on with them. Other companies will give me the infomation no problem. If I ask for a job 3 hours from Buffalo, NY I want to make sure thats where I am landing. When a company calls me once a week with different recruiters each time it makes me wonder.

It's all about the recruiter... she was OK, but other staff not so much.
I worked one assignment for them in FL last year & right away had problems with their payroll department.
Lots of run around, different answers from each person... blah, blah, blah.
I did not attempt to work with them again... too many other companies out there.
Original recruiter moved on & her replacement doesn't listen well.
