Sooo frustrating!!

Posted by Traveler4Life on Oct 25, 2011 7:36 pm

Why is it that managers post positions for specific shifts, then try to push a different shift on you during the interview.  I just don't get that.  If a position is posted as 11-7 or 3-11 and I am looking for 7-3, then I wouldn't let myself be submitted for that position, and instead keep looking for the shift I desire.  I guess the part that irritates me is that I feel like my time has been wasted.  I mean, why would I spend time interviewing for a position that isn't what I'm looking for.  I just wish people would say what they mean and mean what they say, post the true need, and interview for the need that was posted.  Grrrrr.......

This seems to be more the rule than the exception, at least in my experience over the past few contracts.

I'm done venting.....thnx for listening!   (or reading!  HAHA)

I hope everybody is having a fabulous week!!

I think that managers always believe that they can convince a traveler to work a different shift. In my case, since I work only 12hr nights, I have been able to convince managers during an interview to let me work straight nights and not have to rotate between days & nights. I blame recruiters for submitting nurses to assignments that do not meet the criteria that the nurse has told them.
