hello!

Posted by saycheese35 on Nov 2, 2011 6:50 pm

just would like to know when you work with more than one recruiter, what do you do when they all call you for the same position.

I have one agency, i have worked before on a couple of assignments, but continues to want to submit me without telling me the pay package.
agency A: text me at : 3:30, agency B:calls me at 3:50, agency c: calls me at 4:00. Basically everyone notify me there is a job, but no pay $$$ info.

I have basically told them the rate i would accept, but i  would like to know the rate before i am submitted! Is that so wrong,so i can at least compare... i know the clock is ticking for me to give them an answer because there is probably 10 other candidates being submitted for the same job.

Can anyone tell me an easy way of dealing with this issue? Maybe ready to start all over with companies that hear what I"am  asking.

thanks so much

That definitely sounds frustrating! I honestly think the best way to deal with this stems back to your relationship with your recruiter. I'm sure you've already tried this and I know it sounds simple but I would tell your recruiter again that you do not want to be submitted to a job without knowing the exact pay package that the position offers.

Because some companies do have the same contracts with similar hospitals, it can be annoying to get a bunch of calls pitching the same job. Normally my advice is to pick your 2  favorite agencies and communicate this with the other companies that you've chosen not to work with...this should help eliminate some of the calls!

As a recruiter, I always like to go over the exact pay package and specifics of the job before submitting you, just so you're aware and there won't be any surprises down the road.

Hope this helps :)

Obviously recruiting is an extremely competitive business.  Our lively hood depends on your business so everyone is going to want to work with you.  There’s no way to avoid the calls.  You have to narrow it down to a few recruiters so you’re not getting stuck in these situations.  It really boils down to the recruiter, most companies are going to pay the same (we all work with the same bill rates) and we all follow the same rules for LMI (lodging, meals and incidentals).  Basically, don’t work with lazy recruiters.  If they’re not getting you the info you’re asking for right away or at the very least within hours I’d say you’re working with lazy recruiters.  We know exactly what the bill rates are before we submit you and it does not take to long to figure out what we can pay you for the position.  All you have to do is tell them that they can not submit until they give you those figures.  You’ll get them right away, trust me.  A GOOD recruiter will have all of that info prepared before they even call.

that's what I thought and Thanks so much!Gives me confidence when they play the dumb role, like they have no idea what  the bill rate is until after they submit me!

thanks again!
