I just accepted a contract in Las Vegas. I was just wondering if anybody had any information on housing. I know that there are a bunch of Extended Stays in the area, a Candlewood suites, exc... I am debating whether it would be cheaper to stay at an extended stay vs. renting an appartment / house out. I will be working at Sunrise Hospital. Any info reguarding the area / housing options / exc... would be greatly appreciated!
I just started an assignment in LV and am in an Extended Stay Hotel on Valley View Blvd. Not deluxe accomodations by any means, but ok. The thing I like about it for an extended stay is that it actually has a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The last 2 ES hotels I have stayed in were just like a motel room with a chair, table, bed and kitchenette all crowded together. A friend of mine is staying at ES Homestead Suites on Maryland Parkway directly across the street from Sunrise Hospital. She llikes her room there and said that it also has separate bedroom and living areas. Mine is 4 miles from the hospital. Both have 60 day specials for $750 +tax and a mandatory weekly cleaning fee. I researched a lot of the "suite" hotels in the area and these were the most reasonably priced. If your contract is less than 3 months, all the apartments I checked into won't even consider leases shorter than 3 months. Candlewood Suites are definitely nicer, but also more expensive.
When do you start in LV? If you have any other questions, I would be happy to try and answer them for you. I did another contract in Vegas last summer, so I know my way around pretty well.
Be sure and look me up when you are here. I am working on the Pediatric Unit at Sunrise. My friend is a NICU nurse, so I'm sure you will meet her. Happy traveling!

How are things working out for you at Sunrise. I am a NICU/PICU nurse and my husband's aging mother and family lives in Vegas. I know we will have to go there sometime this coming year. We have a camper so housing is not an issue. You can email me privately if you want

Las Vegas country club has an apartment complex inside the gated community that has furnished corperate apartments and is centrally located in vegas close to strip, shopping and such I used to do cable tv hookups there back when I lived in Vegas. I'm not sure on pricing but they have apartments ranging from studio - 3 bedrooms in a guarding community surounded by the golf course. It's been a while since I've been in Vegas but Ilived there for 15 yrs if you have any questions feel free to msg me.
