shared housing travel nurseAsk a Travel Nurse Question:

I’m a brand new traveler considering my first assignment in Fairbanks, AK. My recruiter says the hospital provides housing? and it may be shared?

What questions should I be asking to insure I’m not ending up in dorm room with no storage. I’m an outdoor lover who is planning to take some toys, kayaks, SUP’s and backpacking equipment. I had envisioned a private place to store equipment while I work and explore.

And what other advise for first time travelers?

thanks!

nurse tshirt contestIf you’ve been a long-time nurse, I’m sure you have plenty of clever and funny ideas for nursing T-shirts. Why not give it shot? No pun intended.

In honor of kicking off Nurses Week early, Medical Solutions is hosting its 3rd annual Nurses Week Humerus T-Shirt Design Contest. It seems worth the effort since there are some pretty nice prizes on the line including an iPad3, iPod Nano and $100 iTunes gift card, plus vouchers to Scrubadoo.com and Fibers.com.

Good news is you do not have to be a graphic designer to submit a design. Their partner, Fibers.com, provides a simple yet powerful design tool makes it easy to submit a t-shirt design for this contest.  You can submit your ideas or vote on others here: http://www.fibers.com/contests/nurses-week-2012
